Hi, The expansion bottle has started to weep/leak where the 2 halves are joined together (across the top), so I need to replace it before the warmer weather kicks in.
Any Idea if it's a 2.5dt specific part? (I'd bet it isn't).
Cheers
Andy

PM sent.
It is the dt diesel 2.5.
It does look very familiar.
I have a feeling it's the same as the one I had on an R5 Diesel, but my memory for these things is getting 'Iffy'.
I'm sure they must have used it on others as well as they didn't sell many R5GTDs...
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the part number 77 01 466 974.
Anyone else recognise this number (rainman style ;) ) from any other Renaults?

No its different,i,am still trying to look into this but it appears to be almost unique to the 2.5 TD which I find hard to believe.

It's possible Andy that you might be able to get it repaired. I think they're ultrasonically welded together so its possible that it could be cut open around the seam and re-welded.

Obviously do some research into it first before doing anything drastic.. but that might give you something to look at.

I asked on the ROC facebook page. Not a great response but someone seemed to think it was also used on a Kia...

I keep meaning to have a proper look at it but I've hardly used it for a few months now.
Now It's Motorbike weather, so the Safrane has just done a few supermarket runs but I will need to sort it as It will get used when I need to do longer journeys.

Well I had a look...
It looks pretty normal for a plastic expansion bottle.
Roughly 12cm dia
A bit deeper (but I forgot to measure...)
One small outlet on the side at the very top next to the cap.
The 2 main outlets come from the bottom and are at an angle of say 10.30 or 11 o/c (using the cap/top outlet as 12 o/c) if you get what I mean :D

It's very much like a Clio Mk1 bottle 7701203218 (seen on the bay of E) but with the main outlets exiting at an angle.

it's probable that no one cares about this, but I used a Clio expansion bottle which fitted without stressing any connections notably.
