I need a new refrigernat pressure sensor for my '96 ph2 Safrane. I can't seem to find new ones, at least not for a reasonable price.
Since the AC system is pretty much the same in all cars, i suppose some other car's sensor would do the job if it fits physically.
I suppose the sensor operation and values are pretty much the same anyway.
Maybe some early Laguna/Megane sensor might fit, i don't know. All i know is that mk1 C5 sensor is different.

There is a valve that prevents the loss of refrigerant when the sensor is removed so the physical dimensions are important to open that valve.

A different kind of connector isn't a problem as long at has 3 wire and that it is actually a sensor, not just a switch.
The original sensor has a number 24067766.

Some dimensions:
  • Opens with a 19mm key.
  • inside theres a 10mm coil finer than M10.
  • the sensor side opening is 11mm, the coil starts at 5mm depth
  • the distance from the end to the pin in the middle is 11mm, 13mm to the pin's "spokes"
  • outer diameter of the sensor side connector is 17mm

Any tips would be helpful :) Of course a correct sensor would be nice too :D

Have you tried sending a pm to our forum member Mappy? He works in a Renault parts dept like SAFRANEV6RXE once did. You may find he is able to see if that sensor is used on any other Renault cars

I already ordered one of those, but thanks anyway :)
The connector looks just right on the first one. The inside of the sensor is completely different looking but at least the pin looks right :)

Odd as the ebay page doesn't list the safrane!

We need to start an alternative parts thread...
