I've been the proud owner of 'Marvin' for nearly 10 years - Mk. 2, 2.5 Executive - I tried to upload a picture but it wouldn't go :-(
We've been to Wales, Cornwall, Dartmoor and may other places without it missing a beat.

Sadly, it's coming to the point where things are beginning to wear out. The latest thing to fail is the wiper motor. Sometimes it works but often won't start unless I give it a little nudge. Does anyone know if the motor is unique to the Safrane or might another Renault model's fit? Or maybe someone's got one lying around!

My wife now doesn't drive the car because of this and really I can't blame her. She's not a particularly confident driver anyway and having no wipers in a sudden shower would really freak her out!

It would be such a shame to see it go for the want of a motor . . . . . .

Cheers for now - enjoy your Safranes!

Matt

I've no idea if they're unique to the safrane or used on the laguna of the same era but perhaps if you tell us if its front or rear, one of our two parts guys will look it up for you.

They turn up quite frequently on ebay so don't lose hope!

Thanks for the reply Saffles - it's the front wiper motor that's failing.
I will keep an eye on eBay and continue my research on possible compatible ones!
Cheers!

Not so sure about that, I had to get rid of a lot of stuff for our house move. Some bits were rotten (spare rear sub frame and shocks for example) but i managed to keep quite a lot of interior stuff.

That said, I can help out knowledge wise.. ish... but there are others with far superior knowledge of this car.

I have wipers again!

A million thanks to SAFRANEV6RXE.
I popped over to his place of work on Saturday to pick up a wiper motor that he dug out for me. We also had a nice long chat about Safranes.
I fitted it yesterday - a fairly easy job - and it works a treat :-)
I'm so glad I found this forum and the lovely people here.

Thanks again SAFRANEV6RXE!

It's a small forum and not exactly busy but reading comments like that makes it worthwhile!

I'm glad we've made a difference to you ;)
