Gang..

Today I've been under the saff grinding rust off and priming / painting with underseal. Unfortunately that was just around the bolt holes for the seats.. the worst problem is the front subframe!

Now I do have a spare however it is a MASSIVE job to unbolt the subframe from these cars and the last time I snapped two of the bolts holding it to the chassis. That didn't matter on that chassis as it was going away as scrap but I am reluctant to have this hassle on the current car. If I don't swap the frames though I have one covered in rust all over that I will end up needing to do some complex grinding and painting on.

How would you proceed?

Post some pics of it.
The subframes are actually made of thick metal and i doubt you will go through it when you prode it.
My advise if you don,t want to swop it would be to clean up as best as you can and then pump it full and cover it with a deruster/waxoyl.
But Waxoyl DOESN,T stop rust it prevents it from forming.
