Post subject:  Headlight ON warning beep
Hi!

I noticed a minor, but very strange problem with my phase1 safrane (rt trim level).
I got out of the car one time and saw that i left on the headlights. Opening the door again ther was no beeping.
Also around at that time i realised that the REPeat button on the voice
synthetiser is not working. (the button itself is working fine, i checked it, but still no repeating from the kind sounding french woman :D )

Does anyone have any ideas what could be faulty? What should i check?

EDIT: Sorry, I remembered the beeping sound from my previous (RN trim level) safrane. Safranes fitted with voice synthesiser don't have the beeper.
So there is only a problem now with the voice synthesisers repeat button, and that it doesn't warn me if I leave on the lights.

In every safrane I've seen it's always been an english male butler sounding voice so I'm curious how you got a french bird! :shocked:

Can't comment on your problem I'm afraid as I'm a ph2 man however our resident SAFRANEV6RXE member is the one to ask - he's a ph1 man and has tons of experience with them. Notably his posting here has dropped since he got the vel satis :cry:

Anyway welcome aboard. We're not always this quiet, some weeks we can have new posts daily other times no-one posts for a couple of weeks.

Welcome to the forum,sorry for the late reply,now i know these units don,t really play up,not heard of any playing up,but i also know that if you get the buttons pushed in the wrong order it gets the hump!!
I think you have a choice of mute/beep/voice to warn you and i would change the order around,if you have the manual read that aswell i just can,t remember what order..

Thanks for the answers, guys!

I live in Hungary and I recently bought this phase1, which is originally french, this is why its speaking in french to me. :D

Back to the problem...
In the meantime I figured out, that the "beeper" in the lower trim level cars is a relay-like thing located under the fuse board.
My RT trim car didn't have one of those, because it should warn me by voice (i think..). I installed one, and its beeping nicely now.
Does your cars warn you when the ignition is OFF, lights are ON and you open the door?
Because I can't get mine to warn me, or to repeat what it said.. :cry:

Yes. With the voice it will play a tune and then say "Warning headlights not switched off" - very loudly. Rather embarrassing when you're in a public car park ;)
