I decided to change the N/S/F door lock on the K reg yesterday as it didn,t lock,this seems a common issue on Phase 1s
My L reg had both front locks not working,i replaced them a few years ago,looking at the K reg yesterday its all a bit difficult to change,firstly the doorcard which i,ve never had much success in removing and refitting,they never seem to be as they should after being removed even if you take your time.
Then theres about 4 rods to disconnect,but also the lower window channel needs to be removed,this passes directly in front of the door lock and has to be moved,refitting this is a bit of a task,it has a locating rivet that the channel pushes into.
On a phase 1 there is a rod that goes from the lock to the button on the doorcard,if this is bent or not in the right position then the lock still won,t work or the button won,t go up or down when locked or unlocked,its a real pain to fit this correctly.
